Introducing our new smaller marquetry saw. This is a cousin to our new Mk IV Die saw, but optimized for marquetry instead of cutting dies for jewelers.
The biggest improvement is the new saw guide tower with ball bearing slides. The new guide tower lets the saw swing fore-and-aft as you cut, which is a much more natural motion for sawing. This improves ease of use, as well as radically reducing the effort of cutting.
Mainly in how the saw attaches to your workbench. The saw is in two pieces: the guide tower & saw unit, and a bench pin to support the work. They need to hang on to your workbench. They use a set of industry standard dovetails to do this. You can either get just the dovetails by themselves, and screw them permanently into the edge of your workbench. Or, you can get the dovetails attached to a pair of clamps that grab onto your workbench. That will let your saw go anywhere you need it to. The dovetails are also good for mounting any other dovetail system tool you already own, like our stainless bench pin, or any of GRS’s vast line of dovetail accessories for jewelers and engravers.
